Andrea V. Taylor



Andrea V. Taylor joined Van Dyke Horn in 2017 as a senior account executive and community relations director. She comes to the VDH team after building a solid background in government affairs, community engagement, media relations, crisis communications and event planning.  Her professional experience includes media, automotive, government- municipal and congressional, non-profit and the private sector.

She previously served in Washington DC as communications director for Congresswoman Juanita Millender McDonald of California. Andrea’s primary responsibilities included strategic positioning for McDonald in a competitive media market among the 52 members of the California legislative delegation.

Andrea also served as the press secretary for Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson for six years. She created, developed and managed the mayor’s press office, as well as drastically improved the city’s relationship with the media. As a sworn member of the mayor’s executive team, Andrea advised the administration on the best strategies for communicating new policies and citywide initiatives, and devised a crisis communications strategy and training protocols for the administration.

Andrea is currently pursuing her master’s degree in public administration, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
