Kevin Hardges is the 2016 Van Dyke Horn Public Relations Fall Intern. He is a graduate student at Wayne State University, majoring in Public Relations and Organizational Communications. Kevin is a native Detroiter, born and raised on the eastside of Detroit. Kevin hopes to break into the Public Relations industry, specializing in crisis communication and social media management.
At Wayne State, Kevin has worked on various Public Relations projects, including developing a social media plan for the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (OMSE) and developing a social media recruitment strategy for the Department of Communications, which he assisted in producing a promotional video for the department to utilize.
Kevin is a member of Wayne State University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). He was recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s honor society. He received the 2016 Jane Fitzgibbon Endowed Award from Wayne State University’s Department of Communication, which honors outstanding student scholarship in the department. After graduation, he plans to join the Public Relations Society of America, Detroit Chapter.
Kevin holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech Communications with a minor in Media Arts and Studies from Wayne State University.
Kevin in his spare time loves to read books of a spiritual and self-help nature. He enjoys the movies, good company with friends, and spending time with family.
