Peter Van Dyke is CEO of Van Dyke•Horn, Michigan’s foremost public relations firm. He heads a 10-person team to provide leading communications services to the company’s 25 plus clients, which range from global corporations to local charitable organizations. Peter is distinctly renowned for the entrepreneurial spirit he brings to his company and the firm's client campaigns. Formerly named Berg Muirhead, Van Dyke•Horn has an 18-year history serving clients globally from its Detroit headquarters.  

Peter joined Berg Muirhead in 2006 and was quickly recognized for his talent to develop new clients, refining operations and providing top-rate public relations services. He is noted for bringing in the most clients in the firm’s history and growing the company into industries including automotive, the arts, real estate development and retail. Additionally, he developed the firm’s first internship program as well as led several initiatives to improve its operations.  

After 10 years serving Berg Muirhead’s growth, Peter acquired the company and formed Van Dyke•Horn Public Relations with his partner Marilyn Horn, the company’s president and CFO.  

Peter is respected by his clients and colleagues for his ability to integrate public relations practices to design and deliver comprehensive and seamless communication campaigns. Through his expertise and leadership, the firm has garnered several local and national awards for public relations, media relations, community relations and writing.     

Peter is deeply involved in serving his local community. He is currently chair of the Detroit Artists Market and serves on the boards of Michigan Community Resources and the Michigan Humane Society. He also started the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit’s (MOCAD) young professionals board, where he served as chair for two years, and was the director of Midtown Detroit’s Marche du Nain Rouge festival in its second and third year.  

Additionally, in 2016, Peter and Marilyn developed a scholarship at his alma mater, Wayne State University, to honor Bob Berg and Georgella Muirhead. The scholarship supports the advancement of minority public relations students.

Peter has received several awards and recognitions, including WDIV-TV’s “I Have the Drive” and Crain's Detroit Business's "20 in their Twenties.” He graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Wayne State University, where he started the school’s Public Relations Student Society of America and received the college’s Jeanine Gregory Award for Public Relations Leadership.
